Climb Every Mountain

What are your goals right now?  Do you want to lose weight, or are you working on releasing something that no longer serves you?  On January 24, Mars moved into Capricorn where it will remain until March 6.  Mars is the planet of action, drive, and ambition, while Capricorn represents your foundation and structure.  It’s time to start laying the groundwork for what you’d like to accomplish.

Capricorn wants to know the specific steps that it’s going to take.  It’s not going to happen overnight, you’ll have to put in the time and the effort to get what it is that you desire.  There are going to be obstacles along the way, but it can be done.  Mars in Capricorn has determination and willpower to achieve what it sets out to do.  Focus your attention on what you want to accomplish. This is the perfect time to get those items checked off your list.

Remember Venus and Pluto are still in Capricorn as well.  Venus also stationed direct on January 29.  The planet of love and beauty is no longer asking us to review the past but is starting to move forward again.  Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth has been rebuilding our foundations since 2008 and he’s not done yet.  It’s time to decide what you want and to take steps.  There’s a lot of Capricorn energy in the heavens, as there has been for the last couple of years.  The tests aren’t over.  The universe wants to know, do you want this?  Do you really want this and what are you willing to do to make it happen?  You’re still headed up the mountain.  You haven’t quite reached the summit.  There’s more to learn, but a house isn’t built overnight.  It takes time.  Start working on your steps.

Venus In Reverse

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, went retrograde on December 21, 2021, in the sign of Capricorn, where it remains in retrograde until January 29, 2022. What does that mean?

You’re being asked to revisit the past.  What have you learned about love? Capricorn represents your structure or foundation. What are your feelings of love based on? Depending upon whether you use the mean or the true node, the North Node is switching from Gemini to Taurus and the South Node from Sagittarius to Scorpio, which asks what wounds are rising for the surface for you to release.

Wounds are challenging. They can sneak up on you just when you think you’ve let them go.  I’ve been working on releasing emotional baggage for a few years now, just when I think I’m getting there, another layer rises to the surface.  I’ve been thinking about love and what it means to me now and what it has meant to me in the past.  I grew up with a lot of friends and family who I knew loved me, but an event with someone who I thought was my friend began to change what I had thought about love. Suddenly love brought pain and hurt.  As an 11-year-old, I couldn’t process what that meant.  I had trouble trusting myself. I had thought this person was my friend. How could I have been so wrong? I had trouble trusting others. Did they have ulterior motives? Were they out to get something from me? Once they got it, would they be gone?

It took time to put the pieces together and start to move forward. For years I lived in the pain and didn’t know how to begin.  As I approached my 30th birthday, I knew my life wasn’t what I wanted it to be.  I found Reiki. I started to heal. I started to find friends who met me on a new level. I started to open up, but along the way, I encountered betrayal again.

I reacted differently this time. I stopped trusting that one person instead of everyone, but I found this wound was still keeping me from moving forward.  I need to do some work. Wounds work in layers. There are layers to peel away.

Growth Hurts!

Life seems like a challenge right now.  If it doesn’t hurt, you’re not doing it right.  Now is a time to grow and expand.  Growth hurts!

Think back to when you were a kid.  When you grew taller, you would be tired.   You would sleep more and eat more, but eventually everything would even out.

Growth in life is the same way.  It hurts.  You exercise for the first time, and it hurts the next day.  Each time you work a new muscle group, it hurts again.

When you’re expanding your knowledge base, there’s bound to be pain involved.  That doesn’t mean that you should run though, the universe will always find you.  The next time the lesson will be a little more complex.

It seems you may want things to stay the same, but that’s just not possible.  Or maybe you want someone to do the hard work for you.  That’s not an option either.

You came here to experience life.  Growth is a natural part of life.  You don’t just go from Point A to Point E, you must go through Points B, C, and D before you get there.

Even when you think you have tackled this lesson, there could be another layer to work through.  No matter how much you want to, life is a process, and it doesn’t always happen overnight.  The things that you desire the most you must work for.

Growth is hard, but on the other side of each obstacle.  It could be everything you’ve ever wanted.  Seeds don’t grow overnight.  It can take months or even years to get the desired result.  Keep working on it, you will get there and one day you will be in awe of how much you’ve grown.

What are you looking to grow? Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Surrender

One of the most challenging things you might ever do is to learn to surrender.  You have a tendency to want to control.  To control how something happens.  Eek!  You get an idea in your head.  You may even try to force it to happen in the way you’ve seen.  But unfortunately, that’s not how things work.  You’re meant to do some work to bring that something to fruition, but the unfolding isn’t up to you. What a bummer!  You can do, do, do all you want, and somethings just won’t happen no matter what you do.   It could be you’re trying too hard or not hard enough.  Like that makes any sense.

There’s a balance that you need to learn to walk.  The only thing you can control is yourself.  You can’t force someone else to change, no matter how much you want to.  You can’t control how someone else feels.  You can’t make something happen when you want it to.  It would be easier if it didn’t.

There’s a plan for you.  Things in your life don’t always operate on your timetable.  You need to learn to surrender.  Now you may be thinking how do I do that?  Each person is a little different.  Ultimately like anything else the more you work on yourself, the more things will start to fall into place, and you won’t want to control the outcome anymore.

Surrendering is a practice.  It’s a place within yourself that is confident.  One that knows that things will happen as they’re meant to.  One day you may do well, the next might be more challenging.  The practice isn’t always easy.  It’s something that you work towards.  You learn to work through your fears, your desires, and your pride to open up and allow courage to enter your life.

Have the courage to surrender to your dreams.  Work on yourself.  Feel comfortable within yourself.  What you want will come, it may not be in the package you envisioned or happen how you would like, but it will come if you can step back and surrender.

It’s Time To…

What do you want 2021 to look like?  A lot of the structures in your life were demolished in 2020.  You can build something new.  Something different.  Are you ready?

It’s so easy to get stuck in the mindset of poor me.  Things never seem to work out for me.  But you don’t have to live there.  You can create something new.  Something different.  You can build a life that you love.

Maybe you’ll be one of the fortunate ones and with a snap of your fingers, it will be different.  But let me tell you a secret, it rarely happens that way.  You must process your old life first.  How did you end up where you are?  It’s not an easy process.  There’s a reason that people stay the way they are.  It requires work and effort.  How bad do you want it?

Are you willing to take the leap?  Are you willing to put in the work?  It would be easier if things did just magically happen.  You must demonstrate how badly you want it.

The lessons that you’ve experienced have made you who you are.  You lived through them for a reason.  They’re part of your life’s journey, but you don’t have to stay there.

We can get guidance from our intuition, oracle/tarot cards, astrology, numerology, etc., but ultimately you have the final say over how your life turns out. It’s yours to live as you wish.  So, what are you going to do?

Every change starts with a small step.  You can do this if you want to.

It’s never easy to move past your fear or swallow your pride, but there’s so much joy on the other side knowing that you did something that terrified you and it turned out ok.

A leap of faith is challenging, but you must have hope.  Be optimistic that your world can be better.  It can be what you want it to be, the effort is up to you.

Do you ever have a thought that doesn’t leave?  A thought that says you should do this.  Start there.  You don’t have to change everything overnight.  Work through the pain and see what lies on the other side on your timetable.

What effort are you willing to put into changing your life?   Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

What does 2021 have in store for you?

What does 2021 have waiting for you?  It’s the question that you want to know at the start of a new year, but especially after the challenge that was 2020.

As a student of astrology and numerology, I look to the cosmos for the answer.  Based on numerology, we’re looking at a 5 year (2 + 0 + 2 + 1 + 5).  But what does that mean?  We’re looking at a year of change.  The basic foundations of your life took a tumble in 2020.  You look at the world, so many people are on the verge of being homeless and waiting in line for food assistance.  What does that mean for them or you?  Your story hasn’t been told yet?

If you look at astrology, the planets Jupiter and Saturn told the story in 2020.  For 2021, Saturn and Uranus will be in charge.  You’re going to be looking at creating a new structure for your life.  Again, there’ll be an emphasis on change.  We had some sneak peeks at different points in the year as Jupiter and Saturn both moved into Aquarius and then retrograded back into Capricorn.  We’re finally moving forward.

We’re still at the stage where we can guess what our story will be.  Numerology and astrology can give us an idea of where the changes can happen, but nothing in this world is definite even if it seems fated.  The timing could be off.

You have to trust that the universe is there to support you.  It’s teaching you and guiding you to become the person you’re meant to be.

Your story will further unfold over the months in 2021.  What are you looking at?  Be prepared!  We’re still in the middle of the tale.  We’re on the ride.

Your life isn’t set in stone.  It’s a journey.  There are things for you to learn.  These events each contribute something to your story.

You never could have predicted the path your life would take in 2019 or 2020.  You’re intrigued by what 2021 has in store, but I want to skip to the end of the book and see what it says.  You have to trust that things will work out how they’re supposed to.

Be prepared for what 2021 has in store for you.  Hope you set some intentions on New Year’s, but it’s not too late!  Do them now.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

What makes an individual beautiful?  I can’t answer that question for you.  Only you can answer.  Beauty is different for every individual.

Our world is obsessed with outer beauty.  We all want to be considered attractive.  Growing up we idolize movie stars and models, who seem to be the epitome of beauty and success.  They seem to have it all, looks and money, but what if beauty is something else?  What if doing the inside work is just as important as the outside.

We spend so much time making sure that our hair and makeup look perfect before we leave the house.  You’re not alone, I’m right there with you!  There are many times where I haven’t left the house without my make-up on, especially before the pandemic.  Since the pandemic began there are many days where I don’t wear make-up and I throw my hair up into a bun.  There are other things to do and it just seems to get in the way.  It’s not that there is no longer a concern about this, but it isn’t the only thing that seems to matter.  I still do the routine a lot of days and probably will do it more often in the future, post masks, but I’ve been focused on what’s going on in the inside.

The pandemic has presented us with an opportunity.  The chance to let our inner light shine.  To move past our past and traumas to let our power out.  We should strive to be beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.

Don’t forget about it!  It’s just as important, if not more so.  Your inner light creates confidence and self-esteem that enhances your outer beauty.

Becoming You

What if you aren’t who you thought you were?  Unfortunately, traumatic events can make us not want to be hurt again, so we start to hold a part of ourselves back.  We don’t show who we are and allow our authentic self to shine through.

Having spent a good portion of the last 9 years or so working through trauma has now led me to the point of I thought I knew who I was but there’s more.  I was looking at pictures and I found one from about the age of 4 that has always spoken to me.  What is it about that one picture?  I’m starting to think it’s my authentic self speaking to me.  Helping me.  Guiding me back to the person I’m meant to be.

Nothing that I’ve done has been for not.  It has led me to this point.  I could say the same thing to you.  Everything that you’ve done has led you to this point.  The question is what do you do next?  Do you continue to play it safe or step up?  How do you move forward?

Becoming who you were meant to be is challenging.  We can doubt ourselves and not know which way to go.  So what do we do?  There are variations for each of us.  I tend to take the big picture and break it down into small pieces.  You may jump right in.  Neither one is right nor wrong.  It’s all about who we are.

All these energies are forcing us to review our story.  Who have we been and who do we want to become?  Who are we?  What do we value?  Does our day-to-day life demonstrate what we value?  Maybe you’re reviewing this list of questions and decide that you’re good.  That’s great!  You’ve probably done a lot of work on yourself to reach that place, but what if you’re not?  Becoming the person you’re meant to be can present it’s own challenges, but when you finally know who you are, there’s nothing better.

Who do you want to be? Let me know.  Do you want to know more about what I do?  Click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Is This Your Best?

Are you doing the best you can right now?  If the answer is yes, then you have nothing to worry about.  Growing up were you one of the kids whose parents accepted their grades if you did the best you could or the one whose parents expected perfection?

Perfection is a challenging trait to overcome.  It could have been ingrained in us by our parents or something we learned.   Either way striving to be perfect can prevent us from thriving in challenging circumstances.  Perfection can never be obtained.  Human beings aren’t perfect.  We’re flawed.  We have problems.  It’s our problems that teach us on this journey called life.

You could wake up in the morning and your plans could be completely blown apart by 9 am.  I’ve been there.  I bet you have too.  Things don’t always work out as we have planned.  Life can get in the way.  But, it’s ok.  Give yourself permission to say it’s ok.  If you did your best, then it’s ok.

For most of my life, I strove for perfection.  What did it get me?  I was never truly happy with myself.  I wanted to be better.  I would question everything that happened.  While I still do these things, my motive has shifted.  I want them to learn more.  I want to see myself grow.  I no longer want to use it as a mask for what others see.  However, I also know this is a process and I can’t change comfortably overnight.  The first thing I had to learn was that I was doing the best I could and to learn to be ok with that way of thinking.  It took me time.  I’m still a work in progress, but I’m doing the best I can.

As a result, my self-confidence has gone up.  I feel better myself. I’ve tried things I never thought I would.  I’ve learned to care less about what others think of me.  I’ve given myself permission to do the best I can.  That’s the best thing somedays that any of us can do.

Are you doing the best you can?  Let me know.  Do you want to know more about what I do?  Click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Just Do It!

Nike’s “Just Do It!” campaign can apply to so much more then just buying sneakers.  It can be a major lesson on life and taking action.

Taking action can feel like one of the most terrifying things to do at times.  But what happens if we don’t?  There are so many possibilities.  We don’t allow ourselves to grow.  We self-sabotage.  In so many ways, we let life pass us bye.  FYI, it doesn’t really pass us bye.

Sabotaging ourselves doesn’t feel like that in the moment.  We’re afraid to take that step.  We’re not sure.  What will life look like on the other side?  It could make you different from your friends and/or family.  Whatever it may be could be stopping you from stepping into something you’ve dreamed of.

I know we’re still amid a pandemic and we aren’t supposed to leave our homes.  But what I’m talking about doesn’t necessarily require you to leave your home.  There are still ways you can act.  Action doesn’t have to mean an accomplishment of a major goal but could be small steps towards reaching a major goal.

Over the course of the last year, I have taken small steps to big goals.  I have been working on my empowerment coaching certification.  One call at a time.  I’m almost done!  But as I reach the finish line, that fear can creep back in.  What does it mean once I’m finished?  I don’t know the answer to that yet.  But so that I accomplish this, I have set small goals to finish my written examination.  It is an exam of 40 questions, 20 about the course and 20 about 3 of my calls.   I said that I’m going to work on it an hour per day.  I looked back through my notes and started piecing together the responses to the first 20 questions.  Then I drafted my responses.  This part I’ve now completed.  Next, go back and listen to my 3 calls.  Listen to one call per day and draft my responses as I go.  I plan on submitting the exam on April 30.  Some days I haven’t done anything, and you know what?  That’s ok!  I’m making progress.  I started at the beginning of April.  I gave myself plenty of time with the expectation that I might not want to work on it some days.  I told people about my deadline to hold myself accountable.  You’re part of that team as I near the finish line!  I broke my goal into small manageable pieces.  These are the same steps I took when starting my business.  I’ve found this process works for me.  Maybe it doesn’t work for you.  That’s ok too!  It’s about finishing a way forward to something you might not have done.

You might have started but not finished.  I have a lot of those too!  Someday I will check them off and find a way to complete them.  But one thing at a time.  I can always go back and work on them.  First, pick a goal and work through the fears that are going to creep in.  They always do.  It’s how we know we’re on the right track.  Second, break it down into small steps.  Third, come up with a deadline.  Fourth, tell someone.  Fifth, just do it.

What’s your goal?  How are your fears holding you back?  What can you do to move forward?   Let me know.  Do you want to know more about what I do?  Click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.
