Is Your Life Supposed to Be Like This?

Was your life supposed to be this way?  Like the theme song from the TV show Friends “So no one told you life was gonna be this way; Your job’s a joke, you’re broke; Your love life’s DOA; It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear…”

Is this what your life feels like now?  Growing up you imagine a life.  Maybe you’ll be married, have kids and a house with a white picket fence.  Maybe you’ll have a successful career.  Or maybe you’ll just be happy.

When you’re growing up you rarely know how hard life is going to be some days.  The work you have to do just to jeep a roof over your head and food on the table.

Society teaches us lines about how hard life is.  “Life sucks and then you die.”  “Life isn’t easy.”  Just two of many sayings that are out there.

What I’m sure you want to know is when does life get easier?  The choice may be yours to make.  I’m sure you’re asking what does that mean?  From the time you were a small child, you started to take in messages from the world around you.  You were taught to feel shame, guilt, fear, etc.  Those messages became a part of you.  They may have even become a piece of your identity.

When you first get into the work of changing your life, it’s these messages that are often tackled.  You need to quiet the voices.  You need to eliminate the messages.  But how do you begin?

It’s a personal journey.  I began mine with Reiki.  The voices had grown overwhelming, and I wanted them to stop.  I wanted to feel good about myself.  So much had happened in my life that I couldn’t remember, but I knew that my psyche did.  How was I going to dissolve messages that I couldn’t remember?  I started to do work energetically with a practitioner.  I tried a lot of different modalities, but Reiki was and is still one of the gentlest.  It’s a great way to ease yourself into the work of transforming your life.  It didn’t just happen in one session.  Over the course of time and regular work, my life began to shift.  It’s still not perfect.  I’m still working through my fears, but Reiki is still one of my go-to forms of energy work.  So much so that I became a Reiki Master in 2019 and soon will begin doing in-person sessions.  Reiki changed my life, and it could be the start of changing yours.

Between Worlds

Do you know what the future looks like?  If you do, aren’t you lucky!  If not, join the club.  You may have ideas.  You may have hopes and dreams, but it’s not certain until it lands in the present.

There are times where you so badly want something to happen, that you don’t live in the present moment.  You live for creating the future.  That perspective may eventually take you where you want to go, but it can also be emotionally draining.  You’re always seeking and searching rather than being able to accept life for what it is.

The same can be said if you’re a person that lives in the past.  You may believe the best days of your life are behind you.  You miss what was instead of what is.

Living in the present can be a challenge.  Especially for those who are trying to create a better you.  The trials of life are hard.  You so desperately want to be happy and there isn’t a lot of happiness in the world.

Last year the rug was pulled out from under you, and nothing is the same.  It’s not meant to.  You’re in the rebuilding stage.  You’re creating something new, and unfortunately, it doesn’t happen overnight.  You’re going to stumble, and you may even fail along the way.

Life’s journey is never easy and it’s the in-between areas of life where you learn the most about yourself and others.

For so much of life, the in-between areas are challenging and difficult, but there’s value.  Take the in-between area for what it is.  The area where a puzzle is started.  You start putting the pieces together and one day it will be completed.

For now, it may be messy and unknown, but there’s something there to be explored.  What in-between areas of life are you exploring?   Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Give It A Go

Are you afraid to try something new or even something that you did a long time ago?  Sometimes you have to be brave to try either one.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the term bravery is “the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty.”  While bravery may often show up in times of war, it can just as easily be used to define a person that’s willing to face their fears.

Facing your fears doesn’t just mean running into a burning building either.  It could be something that’s held you back for months or years.   It could be as simple as trying something.

As a child, I was never a great roller skater, but I could roller skate.  However, I haven’t been roller skating in at least 20 years.  I decided recently I was going to try.  I didn’t even know if I’d be able to stand up.  I bought a helmet and put on the roller skates.  Surprise, I could stand up!  Moving around is a different story.  I do great skating on the grass, but the cement is trickier.  My niece and nephew took my hand to help.  At the end of a half-hour on skates, I decided that I should purchase some pads.  It would have been so easy to criticize myself.  I used to be able to do this and now I can’t.  But I decided to applaud myself for trying and once my pads I will try again.

Maybe for you, it's not roller skates, but the story still applies.  Did you try?  If you did, it takes bravery to face rejection or getting hurt to try.  You don’t know unless you try.  Don’t lash out at yourself because it wasn’t perfect, or you lost ground.  It rarely is.  The point is what did you do that you might have otherwise.

If you tried, you were brave.  If you didn’t, there’s always tomorrow.  There are days where you’re going to get stuck in your head.  That’s ok.  You might have to work towards it.  That’s ok too.

Nobody says that you must accomplish everything today.  It can be a progression towards your goal.  The question is did you try?

But I Don’t Want It to End!

Endings can be complicated and complex.  You may want something to end, but there can be emotions involved that you’re not ready to deal with yet.

Life comes in cycles.  There’s always a beginning, middle, and end.  But like a circle, for something new to start, you must release something that doesn’t.

For the new to begin, you may have to confront a fear that’s held you back for years.  You may have to speak it aloud.  Speaking what you want may be one of the hardest to do.  There’s always the chance that someone can say no.  If you have trouble just speaking it aloud, the response of no can be a blow that stops you in your tracks.  The challenging part of no can be a no for now.  But the no could signify an ending of sorts.  It could be the end of a dream and the beginning of something new.

You have faced challenges, many of which you wished would end, but didn’t.  You ready to start something new but needed to address something else first.

There is a transition that happens between endings and beginnings.  One that can often seem seamless.  One day the world seems one way and the next it's completely changed.  In March 2020, for so many, an old way of doing things ended and a new began.

It can be difficult to determine what keeps you from ending something, but there’s typically an element of fear involved.  Facing your fears may be one of the hardest things you do.  Others may surround you and comfort you on your journey, but they can’t live life for you.  You’re the only one who can do it.

For most obstacles in life, there’s no doubt that endings can be one of the hardest, but there can often be a gift on the other side.  Remember to tell yourself, that everything you want is on the other side of fear.

Once Upon A Dream

I’m sure you have hopes and wishes.  It’s a part of what makes you the person you are.  You want to achieve something.  You want to attain something.  You want to do something.

The last year has been a challenge for those hopes and wishes.  Many of them were put on hold.  Some fell apart and others are still coming to light.

2020 was difficult for so many reasons, but so many lost hope.  This isn’t the time to lose hope, or to forget to dream.  That’s not to say that the protocols made to keep you safe aren’t tiresome and there’s a desire to one day not have to wear a mask for long periods of time, but we’re on the precipice of something being ready to come to light.  It many not come for another 6 months.  But in the grand scheme of things 6 months is nothing.  You can do this.

In the meantime, remember to wish.  Create what you want the next phase of your life to look like.  This is the time when you can plant the seeds.  You can do the work to get yourself ready for the new part of your life.

It’s coming, but the work comes first.  Everything happens in cycles.  You need to have the idea.  Then you research the idea.  Make a decision and execute.  Wishes are the same way.  You decide what your wish is.  See whether it’s plausible.  Make a decision as to whether it’s achievable and then you go for it or start over.

It's spring here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s time to plant the seeds.  Come up with the ideas that you might want to bring to light.

You’re probably at different places in your dreams.  Some could be in the execution phase, while others are coming to light.  There’s nothing wrong with taking time out of your day to dream.  What do you want the next phase of your life to look like?  It can be a more complicated question then one might think.

You may need to explore the depths of yourself.  You may need to discover what’s gone wrong in the past or maybe you dive all in and jump into the deep end.  The choice is yours, but it’s time to dream.

What are your wishes? Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Are You Feeling Intense?

Have you been feeling intense energies lately?  It’s not just you.

There’s an intensity to your needs and communication.  This most recent full moon may have brought something to light that you’ve been working on.  Maybe you’ve been waiting to make changes, but life keeps throwing you curveballs, and you just can’t keep up.

You could be grieving for the loss of a loved one or for the way life previously was.  There are times when you just want things to be easy, to go smoothly and no matter how much you try, sometimes the energy doesn’t go your way.

You try to set a boundary and you can’t keep it.  You set aside time for self-care and something else keeps infringing on it.

When the energy is this intense, it’s trying to tell you something.  It wants your attention.  It wants you to adjust.

Look at where the uncomfortable feelings arise.  That’s where the magic is!  You may have emotions to work through that get you to the other side, but you can do it.  You can get there.  You just need to have faith that you can.

Working your way through the darkness just sucks!  You’ll often go off on detours and work through subjects that you’ve done previously.  A new layer will pop to the surface.

It’s ok.  You don’t need to do it all at once, but the energy wants you to start.  Come up with a plan.  Listen to what people talk to you about.

Don’t just react.  Think about how it makes you feel.  You’re feeling that way so you can move on.  You can feel better.  You can feel empowered.

Step 1 is to work through the intensity. Step 2 is to plan and Step 3 is to execute.

It sounds so easy, but it never is.  What’s the intense energy bringing to the surface for you?  What does that look like for you?  Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Surrender

One of the most challenging things you might ever do is to learn to surrender.  You have a tendency to want to control.  To control how something happens.  Eek!  You get an idea in your head.  You may even try to force it to happen in the way you’ve seen.  But unfortunately, that’s not how things work.  You’re meant to do some work to bring that something to fruition, but the unfolding isn’t up to you. What a bummer!  You can do, do, do all you want, and somethings just won’t happen no matter what you do.   It could be you’re trying too hard or not hard enough.  Like that makes any sense.

There’s a balance that you need to learn to walk.  The only thing you can control is yourself.  You can’t force someone else to change, no matter how much you want to.  You can’t control how someone else feels.  You can’t make something happen when you want it to.  It would be easier if it didn’t.

There’s a plan for you.  Things in your life don’t always operate on your timetable.  You need to learn to surrender.  Now you may be thinking how do I do that?  Each person is a little different.  Ultimately like anything else the more you work on yourself, the more things will start to fall into place, and you won’t want to control the outcome anymore.

Surrendering is a practice.  It’s a place within yourself that is confident.  One that knows that things will happen as they’re meant to.  One day you may do well, the next might be more challenging.  The practice isn’t always easy.  It’s something that you work towards.  You learn to work through your fears, your desires, and your pride to open up and allow courage to enter your life.

Have the courage to surrender to your dreams.  Work on yourself.  Feel comfortable within yourself.  What you want will come, it may not be in the package you envisioned or happen how you would like, but it will come if you can step back and surrender.

Where Am I Going?

Do you want to know where you’re going?  If you’re headed down the right path?  You’re not alone.  You want to make sure you’re not wasting your time.  That you’re headed in a positive direction.  But that isn’t always possible.

You want an answer to a specific question.  Maybe you consult a psychic, oracle cards, tarot cards, or pendulum.  They all confirmed an intuitive response that you’ve gotten, but nothing’s happened.  It’s not easy to continue to trust the response that you’ve been given.  Days, months, or years could go by before you get a resolution to your question.  It’s beyond frustrating to wait while you get a response, but sometimes it’s necessary.

There may be lessons you need to learn.  Work that needs to be done.  It’s not always a cut-and-dry response.  It may seem simple to you and it may be simple to you, but the universe doesn’t seem to work that way.

There could be the tiniest bit of doubt within you and it’s helping to hold you back from achieving your dreams.  It could be anything you desire: money, relationships, or some other goal.  That tiniest bit of doubt is part of the work you need to do to get the process moving.  The way you think about yourself could be holding you back or the energies aren’t quite aligned.

You may have done everything you’re supposed to do, but someone else hasn’t.  You may have to open your mind to things happening in a slightly different way.

There are no easy answers when it comes to realizing your goals.  But what can you do?  You keep plugging away.  Continue to work on yourself.  Feel confident in your own skin.  Follow your intuition and where it leads you.  Trust that things will happen when and in the way they are meant to.  Be open to what comes your way.  It’s not always in the package we think it might be.

Our life path will shift and change as we’re on our journey.  You could be on your path and you approach a fork in the road.  Neither direction is right nor wrong, it’s just a different approach.

You came here to accomplish great things.  Don’t allow your mind to stop you from walking towards them.

You are on your path right now, what’s the next turn you’re going to make?   Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

What Did You Find Out?

Did you have a realization?  Any epiphany this last week?  If you did, great!   If not, that is ok.  You might not have put the pieces together or there could be another reason altogether.

But let’s speak about when you did have the realization.  Did pieces seem to come together?  Do you know you next steps?  Maybe not quite yet.  It’s a process after all.  Every person is different.  Sometimes you’re drip-fed information.  Other times it just dawns on you.

The bigger question is what do you do with the information?  It depends on what it is.  Maybe you’ve learned something about yourself and how you’ve behaved in the past.  You can take that information and change how you react in the present moment.  Maybe you’ve kept yourself from revealing something in the past, so you work up the courage to reveal it now.  You might not be ready yet, but you’re ready to work on it.  Wherever you choose to start is what’s best for you.

The point is that you make a shift.  You use the epiphany to help you move forward towards the life or wish you desire.  We don’t have realizations to do nothing with them.  We’re meant to make adjustments.  We’re not supposed to have static lives.  Evolution is important to who you are as a person.  It can change your life if you allow it.

Have you been having lots of dreams lately?  Your messages could be coming through your dreams or a song that you hear repeatedly on the radio.  We’re given the information; we don’t always realize what it means.

If you’re still having trouble, talk it out with someone else.  Maybe that conversation will lead you where you’re meant to go.

Use what you’ve found out to take steps towards your goals.  You can achieve them.

What have you realized?  Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever been angry or upset about something that you shouldn’t have been?  Most likely it isn’t about this event at all, but a past event.  It could even be one that you remember nothing about.

This happens all the time. It’s nothing to be worried about.  You’re not losing your mind, but it’s a moment to think.  Why do you feel this way?  It’s a moment to heal.

There is something in your life that needs to be healed.  I don’t care who you are.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve done healing work in the past.  There’s always something within the needs to be healed.

With Mercury still in retrograde, it’s a perfect time to look at what people have said to you in the past.  How did you interpret it?  Did it impact you?  If it comes to mind, you’re probably ready to let it go.

To grow and expand as a person and to live a happier, more empowered life, you need to release something from the past.

The next question is typically how.  That’s a little complicated because it depends.  Maybe you need to express your suppressed emotions.  You might need to talk with someone.  Your energy field may need some fine-tuning.  You could need to understand who you are as a person and why you’re here.  Only you can indicate the direction your healing will go in.  Only you can dictate where to begin.

A lot can happen in childhood.  It may be deeply engrained, but you have no memory of it.  Energy work can be especially helpful in these situations.  This was where I started.  My earliest memory is at the age of 6, but a lot happened to me from the time I was born until 6.  My body experienced trauma from having seizures.  The medical testing to determine what was happening.  The trials and errors that are part of the process.  It may be a good thing, but none of those events are part of my memory.  I had to find a way to relieve the trauma.  That’s where energy work came in.  Then more traditional therapeutic processes for the memories that I did have.

Memories are tricky.  They are a part of you whether you believe it or not.  They make up who you are.  It’s time to heal some of those past memories.

What are you looking to heal?  Let me know. Do you want to know more, click here to book a discovery session or an appointment.
