Deep Dive Into the Shadow

The season of Scorpio kicks into motion this week as Venus, the Sun, and Mercury all enter the sign of Scorpio.  Also, there’s a New Moon Eclipse in Scorpio on October 25 at 6:49 am.

Scorpio tends to be a sign that is misunderstood.  Most people don’t like exploring the darkness of life and that’s where the sign of Scorpio thrives.  Scorpio likes to explore the shadow side of life.  If you can meet your shadow and work on the triggers that arise, you can find the areas that you need to address in order to grow.

A lot happens astrologically this week, especially Sunday.  Saturn stations direct on October 23 at 12:07 am.  Saturn is still in the sign of Aquarius.  In general terms, Saturn is addressing the collective and the direction we’re headed since our structures have been dismantled.  What does the future look like?  Saturn has been revisiting the past while retrograding and is now ready to examine what it learned.

Venus will enter Scorpio on October 23 at 3:52 am.  The planet of love and beauty will drop into the underworld, where the Sun joins her a couple of hours later at 6:36 am.

Jupiter will retrograde back into Pisces on October 8 at 1:10 am.  Jupiter is still looking back and is re-examining what was going on before May 10.  It’s giving another opportunity for expansion, which won’t happen until Jupiter goes direct on November 23.

The last of the personal planets, Mercury, will enter Scorpio on October 29 at 3:22 pm.

It can seem terrifying to confront your shadow, but the only thing to do with fear is to move through it and face it.  Otherwise your fear can control you.  It’s time to meet your shadow and follow the triggers.

Time For Work

Summer is drawing to a close.  Kids will be going back to school and life will settle into a new routine as the Sun moves into Virgo on August 22 at 11:16 pm.

It’s time to get to work.  You’ve been receiving visions and clarity and now the Sun wants to shine a light on the work that needs to be accomplished.  It’s time to become practical and analytical and begin to take the next steps.

How can you accomplish the tasks ahead of you?  What do you need to do?  Make a list.  Virgos love a to-do list.  Start working your way through what needs to be done for you to work on your goals.

Also, there is a second sign change this week as Mercury will enter Libra on August 25 at 9:03 pm.  Mercury will be looking for peace, love, and harmony.  It wants things to be fair and diplomatic.  More of the element of air will again enter the atmosphere and help people speak cooperatively.

The week will close out with two Squares on August 27.  One is between Venus in Leo and Uranus in Taurus at 12:34 am and the second is between the Sun in Virgo Square Mars in Gemini at 4:11 pm.  Uranus in Taurus has been shaking up your world and with it Squaring Venus in Leo, it's looking to shake up how you love and connect you with your heart.  The Sun squaring Mars is shining a light on how you take action.  Are you moving forward?

Variety is the Spice of Life

Have you been receiving clarity over the last few weeks about what makes your heart sing?  What do you really want in life?  Leo season is all about connecting to the heart.  The sun is in Leo until August 22, so the sun is shining a light on this area of your life.  Venus entered the sign of Leo on August 11, so now the planet of love and beauty has gotten in on the action, but Mars is leaving behind the sign of Taurus on August 20 and entering Gemini, the sign of communication.  It’s time to get social.

There hasn’t been a lot of air in the sky, so even though you may have been receiving clarity, you haven’t felt like sharing it with anyone.  That is about to change.  Gemini loves to chat and get excited about something new.  Geminis tend to thrive on change and are interested in doing many things at one time.  Mars is all about action and drive, so Mars is going to be helping you to speak about what you want.

One thing about manifesting something that you want to bring into your life is that you have to speak it aloud.  Every time I have been looking for a new job, from the time that I begin to mention it, the universe starts working behind the scenes and I have typically had a new job within a few weeks.

This is the time to start speaking about what you want to change.  What does your heart want as you move forward?  It may seem small or absolutely crazy.  It’s not a time for judgment.  What do you want?  This is the time to start manifesting.  Talk about it with your friends and family.  You never know where that one conversation might begin to take you.

The most challenging part of manifestation is letting it go.  You often want to control the outcome.  Try not to control the outcome.  The South Node in Scorpio will help you to let go of that need.

Climb Every Mountain

What are your goals right now?  Do you want to lose weight, or are you working on releasing something that no longer serves you?  On January 24, Mars moved into Capricorn where it will remain until March 6.  Mars is the planet of action, drive, and ambition, while Capricorn represents your foundation and structure.  It’s time to start laying the groundwork for what you’d like to accomplish.

Capricorn wants to know the specific steps that it’s going to take.  It’s not going to happen overnight, you’ll have to put in the time and the effort to get what it is that you desire.  There are going to be obstacles along the way, but it can be done.  Mars in Capricorn has determination and willpower to achieve what it sets out to do.  Focus your attention on what you want to accomplish. This is the perfect time to get those items checked off your list.

Remember Venus and Pluto are still in Capricorn as well.  Venus also stationed direct on January 29.  The planet of love and beauty is no longer asking us to review the past but is starting to move forward again.  Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth has been rebuilding our foundations since 2008 and he’s not done yet.  It’s time to decide what you want and to take steps.  There’s a lot of Capricorn energy in the heavens, as there has been for the last couple of years.  The tests aren’t over.  The universe wants to know, do you want this?  Do you really want this and what are you willing to do to make it happen?  You’re still headed up the mountain.  You haven’t quite reached the summit.  There’s more to learn, but a house isn’t built overnight.  It takes time.  Start working on your steps.

Venus In Reverse

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, went retrograde on December 21, 2021, in the sign of Capricorn, where it remains in retrograde until January 29, 2022. What does that mean?

You’re being asked to revisit the past.  What have you learned about love? Capricorn represents your structure or foundation. What are your feelings of love based on? Depending upon whether you use the mean or the true node, the North Node is switching from Gemini to Taurus and the South Node from Sagittarius to Scorpio, which asks what wounds are rising for the surface for you to release.

Wounds are challenging. They can sneak up on you just when you think you’ve let them go.  I’ve been working on releasing emotional baggage for a few years now, just when I think I’m getting there, another layer rises to the surface.  I’ve been thinking about love and what it means to me now and what it has meant to me in the past.  I grew up with a lot of friends and family who I knew loved me, but an event with someone who I thought was my friend began to change what I had thought about love. Suddenly love brought pain and hurt.  As an 11-year-old, I couldn’t process what that meant.  I had trouble trusting myself. I had thought this person was my friend. How could I have been so wrong? I had trouble trusting others. Did they have ulterior motives? Were they out to get something from me? Once they got it, would they be gone?

It took time to put the pieces together and start to move forward. For years I lived in the pain and didn’t know how to begin.  As I approached my 30th birthday, I knew my life wasn’t what I wanted it to be.  I found Reiki. I started to heal. I started to find friends who met me on a new level. I started to open up, but along the way, I encountered betrayal again.

I reacted differently this time. I stopped trusting that one person instead of everyone, but I found this wound was still keeping me from moving forward.  I need to do some work. Wounds work in layers. There are layers to peel away.

What Are You Feeling?

Feelings can be a challenge. How might you ask? Feelings can be a challenge to not only describe at times but sometimes more important to express. Unexpressed feelings can just end us as emotions that are stuck with nowhere to go. Over time those emotions can build up and may even come out in unexpected ways.

Did you grow up with feelings being expressed? For most of us, I would say probably not. Expressed emotions tend to make people uncomfortable. Like they did something wrong or something that they want to fix but can’t. Even at events, such as funerals, where are emotions are more acceptable, you may still have trouble with others getting to witness you cry.

The first funeral that I went to was for my maternal grandfather when I was 17. I remember that funeral for many reasons, one of which being the Ice Storm of ’98, but the other was one that stuck with me for any funeral that I went to in years to come. My grandmother had lost her husband of 57 years and I never saw her cry. The word stoic has always come to mind. Now come to find out, it seems to be a trait amongst the women in that family. Feelings had a place and in public wasn’t one of them.  I don’t have any idea what she felt behind closed doors, again those types of feelings weren’t meant to be revealed.

In this period of time that we're in, right now, our feelings are coming to the surface. Things that you might never have known about are being revealed. They’re being seen in a different light.  There may have been long-standing issues that you’ve been working on and another piece of the puzzle will fall into place.  As you move through this experience, remember one thing. Allow your emotions to come out, even if you’d prefer, they stay hidden.  A little trick that I’ve used is to watch tearjerker movies and television shows to allow myself to cry.  I may be crying over something in my own life, but there’s something freeing in the act of allowing it to come out through watching a piece of fiction.

The other reminder is if you have the opportunity this holiday season, tell someone that you love them. It can seem like life will last forever, but that’s not always the case.  You never know where life will take you and it can take people to places where we can’t follow.  It’s important to state how you feel when you have the opportunity.  You don’t want to look back years from now and wish that you would have said something.  You may not always get an I love you in return, but at least those feelings aren’t hidden inside.  Feel any feelings that are rising on the surface right now. It’s an important phase in your growth as a person.

What or Who Do You Love?

Love can be a tricky emotion to talk about.  It can feel different from one person to another.  It can be unknown.

Love is one of the higher vibration emotions that you can experience, but it can also involve a world of hurt.

As a teenager, I was friends with a person who manipulated me to the point that once I stood up for myself and fought back; I didn’t know who I was, but one thing that I did know was I never wanted to feel that way again.

What I didn’t know at the time is an attitude like that can prevent the good from coming in, and it didn’t stop the hurt.  The hurt still surrounded me, it became a focus.

One of our objectives in this life is to love others.  Hurt is a natural part of the process.  You’re going to hurt when people leave your life whether it be from moving away, dying, or an end to the relationship.

Hurt helps you to grow and expand.  There are lessons that you’ve learned through love and hurt that you couldn’t have grasped if it had happened in another way.  You don’t grow when all is happy in your life.  You learn from the drama, the tension, and the hurt.

Looking back at your life, you’ll remember moments from the good times, but the bad times helped to shape you as a person.

I never wanted to hurt again after that experience, but I still have those moments in my life.  Those moments led me in a new direction.  I wouldn’t be writing this blog post, if I hadn’t been fired.  I wouldn’t be who I am if I hadn’t experienced the dark times.  I’m sure you can say the same.

If you allow it, your hurt will lead you where you need to go.  It will take you to a new lesson.  A new way to grow.
